About VADS
Who We Are:
We operate under the auspices of the Fort Alcohol & Drug Services Society.
Fort Alcohol & Drug Services Society is funded by the Northern Health Authority and is responsible for both offices in Fort St. James and Vanderhoof as well as Fraser Lake.
We are a non-profit organization with a Board of Directors made up of citizens from the region; there is no fee for our services.
We are a professional program providing outpatient services for persons who see themselves as being affected by the substance use or misuse of themselves or any other significant person in their life.
The Vanderhoof office is responsible for Vanderhoof and Fraser Lake.
What We Do:
Offer counselling and prevention services to Vanderhoof and surrounding areas; there is no fee for our services.
Provide services for individuals & families directly/indirectly affected by chemical dependency on alcohol or other drugs.
Provide referrals to other treatment programs.
Prevention services offered include education, information and support for parents, community education presentations and awareness, working with youth to co-ordinate drug free activities, and outreach services to the local high school.
